In vitro combination of anidulafungin and voriconazole against intrinsically azole-susceptible and -resistant Aspergillus spp.
In vitro interaction of anidulafungin with voriconazole was tested by a microdilution broth checkerboard technique and an agar diffusion method against 30 Aspergillus clinical isolates belonging to five different species. By using a complete inhibition endpoint, indifferent interactions were observed for 97% of the isolates by the checkerboard technique (FIC index from 0.5 to 2) and for 100% of...
متن کاملIn vitro synergy testing of anidulafungin with itraconazole, voriconazole, and amphotericin B against Aspergillus spp. and Fusarium spp.
The in vitro interactions of anidulafungin with itraconazole, voriconazole, and amphotericin B were evaluated by using the checkerboard method. For Aspergillus spp., anidulafungin with amphotericin B showed indifference for 16/26 isolates, while anidulafungin with either azole showed a synergy trend for 18/26 isolates. All drug combinations showed indifference for 7/7 Fusarium sp. isolates.
متن کاملBronchopulmonary disposition of intravenous voriconazole and anidulafungin given in combination to healthy adults.
Voriconazole and anidulafungin in combination are being investigated for use for the treatment of pulmonary aspergillosis. We determined the pulmonary disposition of these agents. Twenty healthy participants received intravenous voriconazole (at 6 mg/kg of body weight every 12 h [q12h] on day 1 and then at 4 mg/kg q12h) and anidulafungin (200 mg on day 1 and then 100 mg every 24 h) for 3 days. ...
متن کاملMultiple splicing factors are released from endogenous complexes during in vitro pre-mRNA splicing.
Pre-mRNA splicing occurs in a macromolecular complex called the spliceosome. Efforts to isolate spliceosomes from in vitro splicing reactions have been hampered by the presence of endogenous complexes that copurify with de novo spliceosomes formed on added pre-mRNA. We have found that removal of these large complexes from nuclear extracts prevents the splicing of exogenously added pre-mRNA. We ...
متن کاملLysosomal enzymes are released from cultured human macrophages, hydrolyze LDL in vitro, and are present extracellularly in human atherosclerotic lesions.
OBJECTIVE Human atherosclerotic lesions have been shown to contain lipid droplets and vesicles resembling those of in vitro enzymatically modified LDL. However, little is known about the hydrolytic enzymes in the arterial intima that induce fusion of LDL particles and so produce lipid droplets or that induce foam cell formation. METHODS AND RESULTS Human coronary atherosclerotic lesions obtai...
